Broadband Energy’s management believes that there are four requirements the Company must meet in order to leverage today’s existing products and distribution channels and develop large-scale markets for automation and control solutions and services:

Purpose - to enable currently incompatible products from different manufacturers to interoperate, with data logging, communications and control capabilities over a variety of media transport (wired and wireless)
Solution: the Connector C2k* Gateway/Hub – Broadband Energy has redesigned the Connector product, acquired from Coactive in Dec. 2002. It was originally designed as an Internet gateway for LON-compatible controls and sensors; Broadband Energy has given it additional, new functionality as a multi-protocol, multi-media hub with universal communications across most available controls and systems.

Purpose - to manage Broadband Energy’s network as it grows
Solution: the IO Connect head-end server – field-proven to scale to millions of devices, updated and improved with enhanced capabilities to manage both commercial as well as residential services.

3: a
low-cost entry-level
product
Purpose - to enable Broadband Energy to establish market entry without dependence on an electric utility roll-out
Solution: the Homely 1.0 Personal Information Peripheral – designed to enable Broadband Energy to put an initial platform in place inexpensively with a broad a range of customers, and positioning Broadband Energy and its channel partners to “up-sell” additional products and services.

Value-added Services
with a viable
price points
Purpose – an initial set of services that will deliver high value at low monthly cost, to structure deployment partnerships with mass-market service providers
Solution: the Broadband Energy Managed Services Package – three high-value services – (1) energy information, (2) automatic information dispatch and (3) safe and secure remote look-in service, offered at low incremental cost to cable, broadband end energy customers.
